Regional Customer Case: Honey Sachet Line for the Middle East Market

Honey is one of the most difficult products to package. It is viscous, temperature-sensitive and leaves sticky residue everywhere. This case study shows how a regional honey producer in the Middle East solved all three problems with a Link honey sachet line.

The Challenge

The customer packed honey in glass jars and wanted a new single-serve sachet format for hotels and airlines. Their main concerns were filling accuracy, dripping between cycles, and honey crystallizing in the machine during breaks.

The Link Solution

  • A stainless sachet machine with a jacketed, heated hopper that keeps honey at a stable pouring temperature
  • Piston pump dosing with anti-drip suck-back nozzles for clean, accurate fills
  • PLC-controlled sealing with temperature compensation for foil and laminated films
  • Rapid disassembly design so the contact parts can be cleaned in hot water at the end of each shift

The Result

The line runs up to 60 sachets per minute with ±1% filling accuracy, and the customer reports virtually zero drips and no crystallized downtime. The sachets are exported across the region — a format that grew out of Link’s 30 years of manufacturing experience with viscous products.
